Trinity, Doubt and Mission.

God as the Creator Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit created together in harmony. And God is inviting us to join, and to invite others to the communion of love, creativity, and unity. God created and liberated the world from chaos, and we need to remember that message especially in these days that are marked by uncertainty, war, conflict, and chaos in many places around the world and in our country.
We are called to develop our mission in a time of global crisis. The first Christians had their own global crisis also, with plagues, wars, and persecutions– we have ours. But the call to follow Jesus not only believing but also moving a step forward, trying to understand why we are living the days that we are living and suffering what we are suffering is part of that experience that takes us back two thousand years ago when some disciples doubted.[1]
The mystery of the Holy Trinity is a mystery that is always inviting us to analyze our faith and the reasons why we are Christians, and it is a call to action to continue the mission that Jesus gave to the apostles. His apostles did not have all the answers, they were people in recovery after the traumatic experience of Good Friday and the miracle of Easter. All that experience was something that they needed to process and analyze for a long time.
We are not different, we also have a lot to analyze, a lot to ponder, a lot to learn, but we have faith, we have the gift that gives us the strength to always be ready to take the next step.
Jesus sends us to preach faith, to preach the I believe. But the second part of the great commission is also important when Jesus says: teach them to obey everything that I have commanded you. This teaching moment is what is related to the necessary understanding, this is the Credo ut intelligam (Anselm of Canterbury and Augustin): "I believe so that I may understand.”
That is why we have not only faith, but also understanding, teaching and theology, prayer, and reflection.
Like the apostles we are sent in times of crisis, but like them we also have the same promise, the most powerful promise that God in Christ gave us: “remember (says Jesus), I am with you always, to the end of the age.”[2]
He is with us; he has never abandoned us. I believe him, and I understand his call, because I have seen him acting powerfully in the middle of every crisis, every illness, and every grieving moment. He is always here, he is always close to us, he is always leading us, protecting us, inspiring us, and giving us the strength to continue serving the cause of the kingdom of God.
Yes, we are faithful and doubtful people, but we are not alone in this journey, Jesus is with us, he is alive, he is our Lord, he is the second person of the Holy Trinity.
Trinity is communion and it is diversity, unity, and mystery. In the same way, our faith is the first step into the great adventure to understand more and more the amazing wonders of the God of love.
May the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, guide you in your experience of faith and understanding.
